With a two year old, there are really two possibilities. The first is a foreign body of some kind that got shoved into the vagina. Believe me, this is not that uncommon. The children discover an opening and will place the darndest things into the opening. The second possibility is that she actually has a urinary tract infection. I would recommend that you take her to see her pediatric provider. They are well versed in working through these issues. I will say that who ever sees her should not attempt to do a detailed vaginal exam on your daughter without some form of sedation. It is much to traumatic to hold a small child down for a pelvic exam without the benefit of sedation... Lynn
