I know that every >dystocia I have takes about a year off my life. My daughter weighed 7lbs 12ozs and I had the shoulder dystocia with her 5 years ago- I also got a 4th degree tear, The doctor spent almost 2 hours sewing me back up--what a wonderful job she did I had NO PROBLEMS. My son was born 7 months ago he weighed 10lbs 12ozs and I suffered a shoulder dystocia with him that has left both of us in pretty bad shape. We are flying to Texas in Jan to the Texas Children's Hospital's Briachel Plexus Clinic for treatment to his left arm. I was just sent to a colorectal surgeon who gave me awful news--my nerves are gone in my rectum and the spintzer muscle has been torn away it is now in a C shape-- He wants to do an ultra sound on me to see how much muscle is left to see if theres enough to sew it back into a circle (I HOPE SO)-- The Colorectal surgeon told me I will also have to make the 100 meter run for the toliet or I will mess my pants and he said I will always leak like Im doing now BUT he thinks he can make it less ( I hope so I'm so chaff and sore I cant take it anymore) the thin wall and the fistulas I have wont be a problem because he will remove that part of the wall and sew the thicker parts together. I'm sorry to hear how scary it is for you-- I only wish I had it to do over again I would have begged harder for a c-section -- after 2 hours of pushing I was so tired I was begging and begging but she let me push for almost another hour, and finally I had my son. Dr. McIntosh THANK YOU so much for caring enough to take the time to answer my questions.
