my doctor just called - 'extremely low estrogen levels'From: Anna (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 19 Dec 2000 16:17:23 -0600 (CST)
I'm 26, I have a history of endo, although it's not currently bothering me at all. June 2000 I had my right ovary removed due to endo. The past 3-4 months, I've had weight gain and severe blood sugar drops. I talked to my GYN about it, and she sent me for labwork during my week off of low-ogestrol BCP. They checked my hormone and thyroid levels. The only thing abnormal was as my doc put it, "extremely low estrogen levels". She wants to recheck the results this month. She said she had no idea why a healthy young woman would have such low estrogen. I didn't get an exact number. What can cause this? What would the symptoms of low estrogen be in a young woman? I feel fine except for the blood sugar problems. I'm not really worried about this, but should I be? I guess this would explain why my endo has been in "remission" since my last surgery (knock on wood). Thank you for any replies.
