Hi Robin, I believe the Prometrium works the same way as Depo Provera on your reproductive organs, so you should be able to interchange them. Just the dosing will be different as the Prometrium in a daily pill, instead of an injection you get every couple months. I also believe that Prometrium is used to bring on periods by using it for two weeks and then stopping. It is this cessation of use that brings on the period, as far as I know. You could probably take it every day to prevent getting a period. But I am not a doc. Ask your doctor, and if she doesn't know, ask her to research it. Or switch your doctors. You need to get satisfactory help with your problem. Good luck!
