No real prep for vaginal biopsy, just a bath/shower to clean area. We usually do a punch biopsy, kind of a 'cookie cutter' instrument after numbing the area with local anesthetic. She could also use a scalpel or scissors to excise the affected area. It all depends. Sutures will be used to close the area if it is large enough. Post procedure pain should be minimal. Ice on the area if it is more on the vulva for 48 hours, then cold. Hope this helps.
