I have a very similar situation. First, do a search on this site by entering "brown spotting" in the text field and you'll be able to read a lot of doctors' replies to similiar questions. The reply from the person who wrote about the white discharge is not the same. I'd recommend the book by Toni Weschler, Taking Control of your Fertility for a very good explanation of normal monthly discharge. I'm certainly not an expert, but my conclusion from everything I've read so far, is that the brown spotting will not prevent you from conceiving, it's more of an annoyance. You probably should get hormone tests done, just to make sure nothing else is going on. As described in the book I recommended above, start taking your temps in the morning to track your cycle. I know how frustrating this spotting is - I have the same thing! Good luck. I hope you'll be pregnant soon. One of the postings I read was from a woman who had exactly what we are experiencing and she began pregnant. Hang in there! abby
