Please respond--mucus,blood in stoolFrom: Allison (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 13 Dec 2000 11:28:21 -0600 (CST)
Last night I would feel like I needed to pass gas and I would pass a small amount of watery stool, almost like diarrhea. It was brown in color but seemed to contain a yellowy mucus with possible a tiny bit of blood in the mucus. I don't feel nauseous or vomiting or having cramping. It happened about an hour and a half after I had eaten some pizza. It happened a few times last night and gradually it did not contain any more mucus. Is this something I should worry about? For the past few months I've had some minor pain on my lower right side that is usually relieved by passing gas but my gynecologist thinks it's an ovarian cyst and has switched my birth control from Alesse to Ortho Tri-cyclen. This is my first month on ortho. Could this cause the mucus? Please respond because I'm a bit of a hypochondriac and I'm scared this is something very serious. Thank you.
