Hi,

Well, I saw my doctor again on Friday to have yet another size pessary inserted. It stayed in, but caused alot of vaginal pain...so I took it out. I couldn't stand the pain any longer. This was a size 4 and I simply couldn't take it, I could feel it in and it hurt! I noticed that I had my side pain back immediately after taking it out..so I think the doc that I saw for the 2nd opinion was right about the prolapse causing the chronic left sided pain...! I want to discuss the surgical option with my physician, but I don't think he is open to doing it and either was the doc I saw for the 2nd opinion. I am only 43 years old and can't imagine living the rest of my life in pain. I have a friend who saw Dr. Cook in California and he found several things with her which he corrected, so I am considering hopping a plane to California (I live in PA) this will be costly, but so worth it if I get rid of this pain. What do you good docs on the board think?? Would you suggest the repair?? Also, I have no reproductive organs left, what is the purpose of a pap smear?? My doc still is adament about having one every year, it has been 2 years since my last one and he suggested on my next visit (which I scheduled) that I have one...I don't see the point! Thanks...Connie
