Re: Hypothyroidism - tsh levelFrom: anita (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 9 Dec 2000 15:31:56 -0600 (CST)
hello terry. i was diagnosed with hashimoto's hypo. about 3 years ago. my tsh was about 42. i was miserable! it took 1 1/2 years to get to the right level, as my real thyroid kept slipping i guess. i had to find the right dr., a very skilled and up to date woman, who has done wonders. i don't feel right at all unless i'm at about 2.5-3.0. i skated at 7.5 for about 8 months, and that was not good enough for me personally. different people feel healthy at different levels. it may take awhile to get it right for you, but when you do, it will change your life. i have hair now, lost 20 lbs., (with ALOT of effort) and i look much younger than 37. if you FEEL like it's not quite right, then it isn't. it's difficult for a healthy person, even a dr. to know this sometimes. find someone who will work with you and understands that you know how you should feel. you may find you feel great with just a little synthroid. just listen to your insides and good luck!!
