There are several compounds that have been looked at and reported in the literature. Most of them don't seem to be that promising from what I have seen. All of them have false positives and false negatives that are not really acceptable. CA-125 is not flawed. It was just used inappropriately. In a patient who has a cancer which produces CA-125, it is an excellent way to know if the cancer is gone, returning, or progressing without doing major surgery. It just is no good for diagnosing ovarian cancer in assymptomatic women. RDB
