Well, I generally prefer that my patients bring two things with them: pictures of their babies, and cookies (but, if they forget the pictures, that's okay). My office staff would like to see a driver's licence and insurance card, also, and would prefer that the patient has showered within the last week or so.

It's best to abstain from intercourse the day prior, avoid douching (which should be avoided, anyway), and bring any questions. And the cookies.
