I'd suggest asking a good friend or two if they have a gyn they would recommend for you, so you've got something to go by, rather than picking one out of the phone book. Also be sure to discuss your concerns ahead of time with the doctor. If they think this is "just another exam" of a woman who's been through it a dozen or more times they might be more efficient and matter-of-fact about it, and not take time to explain things. If they know I'd think they'd be especially careful with you.
