Recommendation for ERT--Vivelle Dot?

I'm 40 and "on the fence" about ovary removal during my Dec. TVH. I've sensed many hormonal changes over the last year, such as moods/emotions, lack of hormonal "sexual surges" during ovulation time, no breast tenderness at PMS time--things that used to be a normal occurance for me. My hormone blood tests came back normal in April, however, but my gyn is not convinced that is all conclusive that I'm not perimenopausal, as she explained that ovarian function can go up and down, and I was probably tested during an "up" period. One ovary is distorted due to adhesions, it's probably got to go anyway.

Anyway, I'm leaning toward removing both ovaries. I'm doing alot of research on estrogen, and seems like the patch has all the benefits and may cut a few of the risks. I'm hearing good things about the Vivelle Dot--smaller, less skin irritation, matrix grid of it offers better absorbtion. Anything else I need to know about these patches? Or estrogen replacement in general?

Should I try some sort of testosterone? I haven't had a sex drive in many years, all I could ever count on was that surge during ovulation, and now it's gone! I've heard testosterone can give me facial hair, oily skin, etc.
