WORRIED TEACHERFrom: MICHELLE (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 27 Nov 2000 18:06:34 -0600 (CST)
I have a 16 year old student who came to me in confidence that she might be pregnant, she is kind of scared to go to the clinic and check it out so i advised her to get a home pregnancy test, she took the test a test called "equate" it said that it was 99% accurate, after two weeks, when she took the test it came out negitive, the problem with this is before she even took the test she had a normal period, but she was still worried, so i advised her to wait until her next period came to make sure, this is now the 4th month after and she is still having normal periods, and if she was pregnant this will be the 4th month into it, she is still kind of worried, so i decided to look somethings up , what i found out was very confusing, some doctors say that you can still have a normal period while pregnant, and still be pregnant, while others is saying that you can't not have a normal period while pregnant, they say it has to be irregular, so i decided to come on here so i can find out some answers to give her, she doesn't want to be pregnant, and she is kind of hopeing she had a misscarge if she was, what can i tell her? , and here are some questions i would really like to have answered, If you are pregnant but have a normal period and you have a lot of blood clotting and a lot of cramping , and it last as long as it's suppose to, is that a soon to be misscarge? and if you are still having normal periods, is there other ways to find out if ur pregnant or not with out testing?, also she doesn't have any spotting in between, and she only get sore and tender breast around the time when she usually ovaulates. THANK YOU FOR ANY ANSWERS YOU CAN GIVE ME
