orthopedic visit today......From: Tina (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 27 Nov 2000 16:31:57 -0600 (CST)
Well, I went to see the orthopedic surgeon my doctor referred me to. He said what I thought he would say...the x-rays are normal and nothing shows as to why I am in constant pain in my pelvic region. So he ordered an MRI....will see when that will be. I also went into what happened at the ob/gyn visit and stated that the ob didn't do a pelvic exam well enough to feel any of the fibroids found with the ultrasound. I then asked him if it was possible that one of the fibroids was pressing on my sciatic nerve causing the severe pains. He said yes and he asked me if the ob recommended any treatment and I told him no that they thought it was bone related so they sent me to see him. He said that the MRI should show if the nerve is pinched or if one of the fibroids is pressing on a nerve. My question is this....What are the odds that one of the fibroids is pressing on my sciatic nerve? My ultrasound results stated an enlarged uterus and a said it was a fibroid uterus. The size of my uterus is 10.6x 4.9 x 5.9cm. Thanks for any assistance you can offer.
