I'm considering having a hyst (will talk to my doctor tomorrow), and figuring on leaving my ovaries in place. I'm 38. I have no family history of cancer, and in particular, no ovarian cancer. But my sister had an ovarian cyst once (required an emergency "appendectomy" - turned out to be a cyst). Should that have any effect on my "leave the ovaries" decision? Thank you!
