Hi Jean,

Thank you so much for writing this. I have a 5 year old daughter who has the same problems. She has told me that her father has fondled her breasts. I have taken her to a pediatric gynecologist who states she is baffled because the "infections" are neither yeast nor bacteria derived.

I have been given xylocaine for when the redness gets to the point that she screams on urinaition. She has her very own sitz bath. He makes sure that he leaves no phsyical evidence and he has my daughter afraid to talk to anyone but me. She is in therapy but the therapist told me that kids this age almost never talk.

The courts and child protective services cannot protect her because there is no evidence only my word of what she has said and a "mystery" ailment of her vulva. The next step will be a biopsy but I'm avoiding it because she just doesn't deserve any more pain.

If you wonder how this can happen, look at "Crimes of Custody" at http://www.kcal.com/ .

Thank you again for posting your message. I'll be more careful about what I discuss in front of her (medical stuff only, I never talk about what she's said or my beliefs in front of her). I've done an odd thing. It seemed to me that she has doctors looking between her legs all the time so I bought her a hand mirror. I told her that if a doctor was looking she could look too! It seemed to give her some ownership of her body.

Hugs,
