Another bowel problem...

Since this came up in a previous posting, let me try my luck: I'm going through some "interesting" stuff - very hard, big bm which I can feel for a day or two through my vagina before they actually go where they should, pain, bleeding etc. I do eat right, exercise, drink huge amounts of water, take my extra fiber every day with extra water (I feel like a balloon :-), and still... It seems to have started or at least become a more regular event when I switched pills to Mircette about 7 weeks ago, but that can't be the reason, right? Now, how do I tackle this? Going to the doctor for hard stools is somewhat pathetic... Can I take stool softeners on a regular basis? Do my poor nether regions need special care after a catastrophic bm?
