It doesn't make much diference which way it is done as far as symptoms are concerned. Cautery is usually more effective, clips are more easy to reverse. At this date, the method should have already been decided. You need to discuss this at length with your surgeon prior to the procedure. Don't sign any consents or take any preop medications until after you do.
