Hi, For months now I have had mild to severe itching on my upper genital area. It's not really near the vaginal opening, generally much higher (kind of the area surrounding the clitoris). Also, at times I have pain in the area too...generally sharp pains if my pants hit the wrong spot or something like that. Or if I just touch the area in the wrong way when I'm trying to see if anything looks wrong. I went for a physical a month and a half ago and mentioned the itching and she diagnosed a possible yeast infection. I have never had much abnormal discharge I don't think. Does anyone know what this is and if there is any over the counter medicine I could try? I would really rather not go for an exam since the first pelvic I had was at the college health center (which is my only option since I'm away at school) and the nurse was not at all gentle or comforting. By the way, I'm 20 years old and have never been sexually active. Any ideas, please!!!
