Hi, my name Margie. I am 29 years old and have had menstrual problems since the age of 23. Just recently in the last 5 years has it gotten worse. Since marriage and being sexually active. I had problems with irregularity...some months a period and then some not.... terrible cramping. As to not even allowing me to work. It lead me to see my ob/gyn about the problem. He put me on birth control for awhile, but my husband and I wanted to concieve. So, he took me off the pill and put me on provera and clomid to regulate my cycle as well as make me fertile. I finally concieved in a few months. In '98 had my first child. Had a difficult pregnancy and bled several times during pregnancy and due to my high blood pressure they enduced early. I desired to breast feed, but due to the enducing (I believe) my milk never came in good. So after a few weeks I quit attempting to breast feed. A few months later I had my first cycle back and it came back with a vengence should I say. I bled non-stop for months. I had a ceserean and wasn't sure if it was normal or not. But, I did allow it to go on to long. Just because I didn't want added doctor bills at the time we were trying to pay off from the birth. It went on for a year. I finally went in to see a new doctor. The bleeding had gotten so bad. It never would stop but maybe for a day or two. I would pass large clots or something and bleed very heavy. The doctor ran a series of test. Which from the endometriosis Biopsy showed my tissues were inflamed with some sort of infection. But, not sure what kind. He said he felt it was Bacterial Vaginosis. He gave me a prescription for a strong antibiotic and the bleeding did indeed stop. Much so I didn't have another period for several months. 6 to be in fact. Then slowly started spotting for days. Then went to heavier and much heavier. I may stop for a couple of days, but if I have intercourse I will bleed or if I pass a large clot again I will bleed heavy. Infact after pregnancy I hardly ever cramp. Except right before I will pass a blood clot. One night at 4:00 in the morning I woke with the worst cramps. I went and got in the bath to try and relax in a hot bath with tears in my eyes it hurt so bad. I went to the bathroom, in my urine was a big clot. I bled the rest of that day but no more cramping after passing the clot. strange? It isn't as bad as it was before. But, headed in that direction. I am not sure what to do. My husband and I are really ready to have another baby. But, with all these problems I am not even close to being fertile. I don't want to be on birth control and my doctor doesn't want to put me on fertility pills because he feels that due to my high blood pressure I need to lose a little weight before pregnancy again. Which is another problem. Since all of this has happend in the last 5 years, I have put on 70 pounds. I went from 140 to 210. When I was pregnant with my son I weighed 190 lost down to 183 the first trimester and went to 206 at my full term 9 months at delivery. Honestly, I never felt healthier or normal as I did when I was pregnant. I felt my body was normal. I lost down to 180 after birth in 98. Since then I have gone back to 210. More than I have ever weighed. I have even symptons of menapause. I have hot flashes and night sweats and fatigue during the day. Which makes taking care of a two year old almost a nightmare. Wanting to sleep all the time. I am miserable not just with my weight but with the constant hormonal and menstrual problems. It is taking a toll on my marraige bleeding all the time and I feel that my chemicals are all out of balance hormonaly. Like constant pms, fatigue and anxiety. I desperatly want an end to this nightmare and would like some normalicy in my life. Please forward any info or suggestions you may have. I am desperate.... Sincerely, margie@texstarcomputers.com
