...and the Pill also does not work as an abortifacient when used as emergency contraception. It will not interfere with a pregnancy that has already been established. The point is to interfere with ovulation and fertilization. This action can happen "after the fact" because sperm hangs around for a bit after sex, and can cause pregnancy days after the act.
