When is enough, enough???From: CMM (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 2 Nov 2000 16:08:28 -0600 (CST)
Abnormal Pap History (dates are approximate) 8/97 ASCUS w/inflammation; suspicious of HGSIL 12/97 ASCUS BCC 2/98 Colposcopy; 1 punch biopsy; benign, ECC=AGUS 5/98 ASCUS w/inflammation, favor dysplasia; prescribed vaginal antibiotic cream 6/98 Colposcopy, 6 punch biopsies; all benign, cervicitis, ECC=normal 7/98 LEEP performed; moderate and severe dysplasia, clear margins, AGUS 10/98 Normal 1/99 ASCUS w/inflammation BCC 4/99 ASCUS w/inflammation BCC 9/99 Normal 1/00 ASCUS w/inflammation BCC 4/00 ASCUS w/inflammation BCC 8/00 ThinPrep Pap – mild dysplasia 9/00 Colposcopy – mild dysplasia and moderate cervicitis, ECC=normal So when do I need to stop worrying? When should I opt for treatment versus the terrible stress of worrying every 4 months about abnormal paps? I'm switching insurance companies and don't know their protocol for abnormal paps. I feel like a HUGE gray cloud has been hanging over my head for too long... Thanks for listening and answering.
