greatly fluctation blood sugar levels, rapid weight gain; endometriosis related? From: Ann (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 1 Nov 2000 16:51:46 -0600 (CST)
I have always had slight blood sugar drops, but never anything like I've had in the past month. I wake up and feel like I'm going to pass out. My hands are shaking, I'm wobbly, and ravenously hungry. The same thing happens multiple times a day. It feels like I'm having to eat all the time! I've put on weight, very rapidly, although the foods that I eat are realtively healthy (crackers and peanut butter, low fat oatmeal bars, fruit, ect). My doctor is out of town, but the nurse said this could be related to my OB/GYN problems (specifically the fact that I had my right ovary removed in June for endo). She suggested horomone imbalance could be causing this. Because of the rapid weight gain, I'm thinking PCOS. I have an appointment for my yearly check-up with my OB/GYN on the 9th of November. Should I call and tell them I might need more appt time? What questions should I ask the doctor? I previously decided I would ask her to test my horomone levels, is this enough? Thanks for any replies.
