Question for Dr Marchbein, McIntosh, Braun, Almen, etcFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netTue, 31 Oct 2000 16:21:52 EST
Hi Dr Marchbein/McIntosh/Braun/Almen/etc, I directed this question towards you because you know my history from other posts....finally think I have something gyn-related to ask you. Quick update first: My endo surgery was rebooked for Feb so I'm just kind of on hold for now in that respect. Plus we're _still_ trying to figure out the LN/fever problem. Doctors still arent sure about the galli scan, but having my third CT in a few weeks and they're going to include the thoracic region too. I've lost more weight, feel extremely full after I eat, wake up feeling stuffed, sore throat, trouble swallowing, etc. My GI thought my GERD might be acting up again, so he is raising my Prevacid dose, plus putting me on Reglan. I find it a bit humourous that I feel so full most of the time, because due to the appetite loss and swallowing problems, I've never ate less in my life. One thing my doctors are thinking of if Lymphoma is ruled out after the marrow biopsy is maybe looking into something muscular etc that's causing a wide array of problems throughout my body. They ran a test for PM, but that won't be back for a while. Anyway....I presume this has to do with the endo, but I thought I'd ask to see if anyone has any thoughts on it. I've been passing out around midnight lately for the night because I've been so tired, usually get up to urinate around three and again in the early AM. I have noticed some mild urinary difficulty, but presume this is from the endo around the bladder again, since I don't have a UTI. Several nights/early mornings I've woken up in my usual sweaty state, but in severe lower abdominal pain. The pain feels like its around my ovaries towards the middle of abdomen. It is _severe_ when it occurs, then after a few minutes it goes away. I thought at first it was pre-diarrhea or something, yet I didn't have to go. It absolutely takes my breath away. It didn't make me feel sick or nauseatious or anything like that...just severe severe pain. I thought I was going to have to page my doctor if it didn't stop, but it did in a few minutes, then it was like nothing had occured. It bothers me because it wakes me out of a dead sleep, and as I said I felt/experienced nothing else. I haven't noticed any discharge, any diarrhea, any pain from trapped air, nothing. I have almost constant sensitivity in my abdomen and cramping, but everyone agrees that's the endo. But this pain was almost unbearable, and as I said, I never felt anything like it before. I have an appointment with my OBGYN next week anyhow, but any ideas you can give me till then are much appreciated as always. If there are large quantities of endo near my bladder, could it cause these sudden severe, yet short-lasting bursts of pain? It isn't something I need to be immediately concerned with or talking with my doctor about, right? Thanks in advance Kas
