I don't know of any other ways that are very reliable. Cycle control by the pill is usually immediate, so you can effectively delay your cycle if you wish. Other adaptations to the pill might take a month or two, but cycle control is generally quick. If you really have 8 weeks, you could start the pill now, take the first cycle the usual way, all 28 days, then do two packs in a row with just the active pills (the first 21 of each pack). That should give you coverage over your wedding and honeymoon. Another alternative would be to take 10 days of Provera beginning now. This would give you a period in about 2 weeks, rather than next month. Then, it would not matter if you started the pill or not as far as your wedding was concerned.
