myomectomy prep

Hi! I am preparing for a myomectomy (laparotomy with a bikini line incision). Additionally, I will be having a hysteroscopy at the same time (to get out the fibroids in the inner uterine cavity). In preparation for this surgery, I have stepped up my workouts to include a lot of toning and light weight lifting. I heard that one doctor recommended that her patient not tone her abdominal muscles prior to surgery, because toned abs makes it harder to 'push over' the muscles in order to get the uterus. I heard that if a women's abs are too toned, then they can't be 'pushed over,' then more cutting through the muscles would be necessary?

What do you think of this advice? Thanks in advance! Janice
