Dr. Marchbein...thank you for the opinion!From: JJ (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 29 Oct 2000 18:28:14 -0600 (CST)
Dr. Marchbein: Thank you for your answer to my post regarding the paravaginal prolapse repair. I believe you are right, I did find a great doc...finally! My regular one just keeps blowing me off. I have thought over all of this very carefully and for the past 3 days have been very depressed at the thought of another surgery. I am going to give the pessary a try and if it helps my pain...we are on the right track...finally...to a hopefully pain free life. I have had so much pain for 7 years now, I won't know how to act if this does work. My only concern (and I will address this with my doc on November 7th, when I will be fitted for the pessary) is that I have a long history of bacterial infections, so I worry that the pessary will make that condition worse. I was just treated for bacterial vaginitis 3 weeks ago and it seems like every 2 months or so, I am back in for a culture and it comes back positive with heavy bacteria. Maybe knowing that the prolapse needs corrected and that I will remain pain free...I will be better able to emotionally deal with another surgery! Again, thank you for taking your time to answer my post.
