yeast infectionFrom: Christine (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 29 Oct 2000 17:28:29 -0600 (CST)
I went to the gyn about a month ago, and she told me I had a yeast infection. It was a rather slight infection, as I've had it for a long while (I suspect) and didn't have much irritation. Actually I had a very slight discharge from it. I noticed there was more and it was a weirder consistency than usual, but it wasn't extreme or odiferous. After she did a culture, she prescribed tetrazole (I think) and I used it as she directed. Now it seems it has returned. the discharge is just as slight as before, but once again it is different than what I would normally without any infection. So since I've just been to see her I'm thinking about using a yeast infection cream/cure that I can buy in a supermarket. But I wonder why did it reoccur so quickly after I thought I had taken care of it? I am 25 and have never had a yeast infection before this one. And I haven't changed any hygenic practices (I don't douche, and I use the same soap products I always have since before I got an infection). I guess I'm just wondering what is it I could have done to start it up again? It's not terribly uncomfortable, but it's just plain weird and I'd like to get to the bottom of it all. Thanks
