Other than diet (which I have been >unable to attribute it to) what particular internal causes (liver, >kidney, colon, etc.) could produce chronic foul urine odor. Short of infection, there is really no internal disorder that results in foul smelling urine with one exception and that would be an anomalous connection between the bladder and the bowel. This should not be intermittant though. There are many things that can change the color and odor, but not to a foul smell. The biggest culprit is diet. Asperagus for instance causes a very classic odor of the urine in about 50% of those that consume it. There are other things that do the same. One additional thought would be to determine if the odor is really coming from the urine or rather the vagina. This could explain an odor that is perceived as coming from the urine... Lynn
