In June I was a total medical weanie - having major fibroid symptoms but living with them for nearly a year because I didn't want to go to the doctor (I was scared & good thing it was fibroids 'cuz I didn't know that!!). Since then, I've been a pretty regular lurker here getting educated and asking an occasional question. Finally this last Monday I had a myomectomy to take out those 5 bad boys - and already I've felt better on at least one day than I did pre-surgery. What an igmo I was to have been worried about modesty, etc!! I suffered WAY too long. I am so grateful to everyone here for answering questions (and even asking them so I didn't have to- gg). You just don't know how much it helped me to get over my fears and then in selecting the right doctor based on the right selection criteria (I had to change along the way because doc #1 kept wanting to do a hysterectomy). I'll have this behind me shortly, but know I'll be a compliant regular patient from now on - and almost all of that is due to the education I got here. Thanks so much!!
