This type of bleeding pattern demands evaluation; yes, it could be perimenopause, but heavy bleeding always should be looked into. You may need an endometrial biopsy or an ultraosund to evaluate your ovaries and uterine lining. Your history of breast cancer would not affect treatment at all, although a histroy of breast cancer does place you at higher risk for ovarian cancer
