Re: abnormal pap smear

Please, please be sure that you make the next suggested pap smear. Fourteen years ago I got the same call. I went back and had laser surgery to kill those abnormal cells (Stage 2 if I remember correctly.) This was discovered just three months after my son was born. (Eighteen months later my second son was born.) Every other pap smear I had over the next fourteen years would come out ok or that something was wrong. After many biopsies and nothing found, I soon quit going in as regularly to have the paps done. I felt that I couldn't trust the paps because of the "false" readings. That was stupid. We just didn't know which ones were false. In June of this year, the cells had advanced to a stage 4 level cancer. After having my uterus taken completely out on October 16, 2000, I feel much safer and am glad that I can go on with my life without the threat of uterine cancer. I am not saying that this will happen to you cuz' everyone is different, but please learn from my errors and keep your paps regular. This was caught just in time. Failing to get paps regularly could delay alot and take lives.
