Kim,

First of all, not wanting any more children is not a reason for having a hysterectomy. It is the result of having one, but not a reason for having one.

Secondly, there are many reasons why a woman would have a hysterectomy. There is Endometriosis, Adenomyosis, uncontrollable bleeding, cancer, and a host of other problems. Seems to me that your friend is not telling anyone just for reasons of privacy, which should be respected. When she is ready, if she is ever ready, she will tell, but until then, let her have her space. A Hyst. is something that is a very personal matter, and a very difficult decision to make.

I hope this helps.
