I can understand your concern, and you are right that this is not normal, however it may also not be a problem. Many women have occasional irregular bleeding, and then return to normal cycles without incident. If this is an isolated thing, then you don't really need to worry about it. If if recurs, or if you can't stand the suspence, then you will need to see your doctor.
