vit E, aspirin and perimenopausal bleedingFrom: AMS (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 14 Oct 2000 14:13:24 -0500 (CDT)
My physician husband and I are having a disagreement - I hve finally got a 10 week stretch of DUB under control and want to resume my Vit E (I never got sick the three years I was taking it and 6 weeks after discontinuing due to bleeding, I got 2 colds one right after the other for 2plus weeks of illness). Also, I want to resume my aspirin because I am uncomfortable being on Provera and being overweight, high cholesteral with bad hdl/ldl ratio and, over the past 10 weeks, mild to moderate pitting edema. Husband says "Dr, my head doesn't hurt anymore since I stopped banging it, can I start banging it again." It is my understanding that the uterus puts out fibrinolytics anyway so why would vit e and aspirin promote uterine bleeding anyway? (Its a royal pain to get through to my gyns office and I'm seeing her in another month, but I want to start my vitamin e/aspiring now. Also, should the provera cause low pelvic pain, sort of crampy but more of a straight, horizontal line of burning, steady pain?
