I need answers!From: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 6 Oct 2000 12:50:24 -0500 (CDT)
I just would like a medical professional to answer a couple of questions for me. I am 21 and married. I went off of the pill, after taking them for 6 months, last November. (So, I havent been on birth control for nearly a year.) My husband and I want to become pregnant. We realize that it can take a year or more to get pregnant. My question is I dont know what is wrong with me. I havent had a period since July 24 (first day of last period). Since then, nothing. No spotting, no pain, nothing. On August 2, I went to my family doctor for my yearly checkup. At this checkup I asked for my blood work done and he ran a pregnancy test also. All the tests were positive outcomes except the pregnancy test, it was negative. My period had become unusual about a month before. Instead of 25 days (like normal) it was 30. After my period was two weeks late in August, I called my doctor again. The nurse consulted with my doctor and told me to call back in a month if I didnt start my period. A month later (September) I called back and after consulting with the doctor she told me that he was going to recommend me to go to the local OBGYN. At that time I took a home pregnancy test and it was negative. They set up an appointment for today, but the OBGYN called to cancel because he was sick and out of the office. The only thing I have changed in my lifestyle is in the past month I started exercising about 3-4 times a week for 30 minutes a day. My question is what could be the problem? Why arent I ovulating? I am becoming really worried about it. I mean could this affect me having children? Please answer me. If you could send me a reply by email, I would really appreciate it. My email address is coreynamyr@yahoo.com Thank you.
