Prolapsed Bladder and decision to delay surgeryFrom: Andrea (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 4 Oct 2000 07:26:08 -0500 (CDT)
I am a 28 year old woman who had a brutal delivery of my first child in May. I h ave suffered a badly prolasped bladder and severe stress incontinence ever since. I have seen some improvement in the past few months (being on estrogen and time to heal) and decided to wait to have the sling repair known as INFAST in Ontario (10 known operations, 9 successful) until I have had our second child. I was happy with my decision until in the last 24 hours it feels like my bladder is slipping out. The Dr. said this is likely my bladder putting pressure in that area but it is truly disturbing. My question is this...could my waiting cause my bladder to prolapse further and fall out? And should I have a second cystoscopy done as the Dr. offered a few days ago but I declined? (just to see if things have improved or not) Thank you for any feedback anyone may have.
