They are both great for homonal causes of abnormal bleeding but not for fibroids. Unless you want more children, the best(most successful) treatment of fibroids is hysterectomy. It works every time. Uterine artery embolization is a possibility but it doesn't work all the time, is just as expensive if not more so than a vaginal hysterectomy, and is still really in the experimental stages. Myomectomy (removal of the fibroids from the uterus) has more complications than taking out the uterus does. Sometimes the fibroids re grow. RDB
