Daniel Braun, MD: "Re: Fibroids, Ablation and BCP" I am 42 years old. I had a thermal ablation in Feb 2000 to alleviate heavy bleeding. (It did not help significantly). I have a 6cm fibroid inside my uterus and the uterine lining has an irregular shape. I was told that the irregularity indicates fibroids. I have been on the BCP (lo/ovral 3months and currently demulen) for 4 months. I get my period for 10 to 18 days, 2 of those days I have extremely heavy bleeding and very painful cramps.
