On day 14????? In treating Luteal phase defect, the progesterone isn't administered until after ovulation, which usually occurs on day 14. Luteal phase defect(Which is extremely rare) is the exception to the rule that ovulation occurs 14 days before the first day of the next menses. In LPD the ovulation occurs at the usual time but because the corpus LUTEUM on the ovary doesn't produce enough progesterone to prevent it, the period comes after only 7 or 8 days. Usually about 2 days after ovulation, the progesterone is administered. On day 26 or so a pregnancy test(Blood) is done. If neg, the progesterone is stopped. If positive, it is continued.
