>Now my questions, when I stand my cervix does not protrude from my vagina nor does it appear to be near the opening. The only time I see it is in a sitting position. Today I was even able to see my IUD string! I know my doctor will answer my questions soon but given this info does it still sound like a prolapse? Would it be prolapsing even when standing?

In a sitting position, I see wrinkly tissue at the top of the vaginal opening (cervix?) and then a smooth round part (base of cervix) and my IUD string. I then have more tissue in a ball form at the bottom of the opening. Should I see anything when looking?

You do have prolapse, there is no question, and you may have a rectocele as well, the ball of tissue below the cervix. Given your pregnancy history, this is not too surprising. You are having symptoms from this prolapse, but only you can tell if they warrant treatment. You have three options. You can live with the symptoms. They are likely to get worse with the passage of time, especially as you approach menopause, but they may not. You could try using a pessary, which is an object that fits inside the vagina and acts to hold things in place. You can consider surgery, either a support proceedure, or a hystectomy with support proceedures. In the end, each woman has to make her own choice based on her symptoms, and the impact that those symptoms have on her life. There is no correct answer, only the best choice for you.
