Hey, I'm in psych too! If I remember correctly, a woman on a perfect cycle should release an egg about 14 days into her cycle so any time between that and her period is definitely a bad time if you don't want to get pregnant. Sperm can possibly live for a day or two inside the woman so having sex right before ovulation isnt good either. Assuming that you want to know this because you are just very cautious (you use condoms but want some added piece of mind)the "safest" time would seem to be right after your period. Of course knowing the exact first day of your cycle or the day that you ovulate is very variable and hard to predict so definitely do not use this as your only form of birth control.
