PUPP in Subsequent PregnanciesFrom: Richard (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 29 Sep 2000 09:29:22 -0500
--- Richard Mendelow --- bucky767@earthlink.net I experienced PUPP in my second pregnancy (not in my first) and I am considering another pregnancy. I would like to know any statistics on the chances of having PUPP again. The second pregnancy was by a different father than the first. I am also thirty-eight. Do these factors have any bearing? Also, FYI, some things that saved me during PUPP (I got it at 17 weeks and kept it throughout entire pregnancy): Baths in whole milk, Prednisone, Benadryl, Atarax (to knock me out when I couldn't bear it anymore-safe for fetus). The whole milk seemed to be the ONLY thing to soothe the skin and itching. Sleeping in a COOL room in 100 percent cotton. Baby was born at full term, healthy, no complications during birth or after. I would appreciate any info you could pass on to me on the subject of subsequent pregnancies. Thank you. Jennifer Mendelow email:bucky767@earthlink.net
