Re: Ortho TriCyclen

I have had doctors suggest that I take a birth control pill continuously (skipping the sugar pills) to prevent my migraines. This apparently does eliminate your period (it's that drop in hormones that causes my period as well as my migraines).I was told that it isn't thought to cause any real complications (theoretically it shouldn't right?) but there isn't exactly a lot of data to support that. This isn't restricted to the orthtricyclene pills. As far as the cancer goes, the BCP is thought to lower your risks of some cancers (cervical?) but new data suggests that it may increase your chances of others (breast). I am at a high risk for breast cancer, but the pill is my best bet for birth control as well as migraine management. Nothing's perfect I guess.
