Abnormal spottingFrom: Michelle (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 28 Sep 2000 09:55:41 -0500 (CDT)
Three years ago, I started spotting after my period. My periods are normal - 4-5 days, finishes, then on day 7, I get very mild cramping and a lower backache with a slight pink/brown discharge. I almost feel like my period is coming again. This usually lasts until day 14, on and off, nothing steady. I then feel better for a few days, then I start PMSing again! I visit my doctor every 6 months for my pelvic exams. My pap smears have been normal. He also did a hysteroscopy, endometrial biopsy and ultrasound in August. All biopsies were normal. The Ultrasound showed 2 tiny fibroids OUTSIDE my uterus, attached by a stalk, and a small polyp on my cervix, discovered with the hysteroscopy. My doctor, who I adore, firmly believes this is hormonal or related to stress....I am the primary caregiver of my mother who is in her last stages of ovarian cancer. I am 40 years old and have never had children. My doctor assures me I do not have ovarian cancer. I can't help but worry. My family also has a history of endometriosis. My doctor did find a trace of it in 1996 when he performed a laporoscopy due to my infertility. Any thoughts?
