FibroidsFrom: Ana (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 25 Sep 2000 13:52:04 -0500 (CDT)
5 years ago,I was diagnosed with an Ovarian Cyst and Fibroids after 38 days of bleeding and great pain. The treatment prescribed at the time was a low dosage Birth Control pill. This worked on the Ovarian cyst and for a time on the Fibroids. I was on the pill for two years. I now believe I have the Fibroids back. I have tremendous pressure in my belly, my belly is extremely dissented, I have pressure on my bladder and bowels, I experience Spastic colon when I eat, I can't seem to lose weight (although I eat only 1200 calories a day, I am in the early stages of Menopause, but when I do get a period it lasts 15 to 20 days. Do I have Fibroids? I was told earlier the only permanent solution is to remove the uterus. I don't have any objection to removal but do not wish to have invasive abdominal surgery, is there another alternative? I have had three surgerys in the last five years. I am a member of Kaiser Permanente Medical Group but have not found a GYN I like. I would appreciate your response and suggestions.
