What is 'normal' water retention before period? This is sort of a dumb question but I'll ask it anyway. I haven't had a normal menstrual cycle in years (low body weight and anorexia being the main causes) and I have forgotten what is considered a normal amount of water retention before my period. In the past week I have gained 5lbs and my period should be starting anyday now. Could this just be water? I'm sort of freaking given my history. Thanks. Next message: Harvey S.
