IVF Embryo Quality and Pregnancy Success RatesFrom: Laura (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 24 Sep 2000 05:16:43 -0500 (CDT)
Embarking my second round of IVF, this time with the frozen embryos we didn't use last time... My doctor tells me that he placed three embryos in my uterus yesterday. He says that two were "Quality B" and one was "Quality D." He is using a scale of A-D, with A being ideal. The two B embryos were at the eight-cell stage; the other was only four cells, but apparently still dividing. My question is: just how much are our chances lessened by having only B and D quality embryos? I've asked my doctor, but as is the custom in the country in which I live, he'll only tell me that everything will be fine. Infuriating, but as I live overseas for my job and he's the only qualified doctor in the country for IVF, I can't exactly just find someone who's more communicative. Frustrating... Thanks for your help,
-- Laura
