Spotting and cervical pain after intercourseFrom: Niki (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 22 Sep 2000 17:24:30 -0500 (CDT)
Following intercourse at the end of my period the discharge was clear with reddish streaking, then turning brownish - similar to the bloody show experienced before childbirth - lasting 8-12 hours. This has happened several times on the 6th or 7th day of my cycle, but this time it was on the 7th and the 9th day. I am 30 years old, have 4 chidren (oldest 9, youngest is 3), I have never had an abnormal pap and my last pap was January 99. Now I have moderate achiness and a sense of "irritation" in the abdominal/cervical region similar to that of a yeast infection or UTI. My last period was unusually uncomfortable, with excessive bloating, cramping, heavy bleeding, and pain during bowel movements. I am making an appointment with my GYN for an annual exam and Pap. Can cervicitis be caused by yeast infection without the itching/cheesy discharge? I do have fairly consistent vaginal discharge that is yellowish, no odor, no irritation.
